Message from the Board

We’ve changed our name!

The LSB Lawyers Association is now called the British Columbia Government Lawyers Association.

About the BCGLA

The BCGLA was incorporated in 1992 under the Society Act of British Columbia as the LSB Lawyers Association. Our name changed at the end of 2017.  We are a voluntary association which represents member interests. The BCGLA is not a union nor does it have recognised bargaining agent status at this time however discussions with government are underway about what form of recognition of the members’ collective bargaining rights will take. The purposes of the BCGLA are:

1. To represent government civil lawyers in matters regarding remuneration, benefits and other terms and conditions of employment;

2. To create, promote and encourage better understanding, unity and cooperation among the members of the BCGLA; and

3. To represent the members of the BCGLA in matters of professional interest relating to employment.

About the Website

This BCGLA website has public access content (what you see now) and members only access content (LOG IN at the top right hand corner of the page).

The Member Access Section provides a one-stop centre for salary information, benefits and other terms and conditions of employment. It also has access to current and archived Member Updates, News and Issues items, a set of our Bylaws and AGM Minutes, copies of the CACC “Communique” and materials of general interest to the membership.  There is also a forum page for discussions and information on other provincial and national organizations.

Looking for something and can’t find it?  Want to see something added to the site?  For more information, contact Sandra Wilkinson or Margo Foster.
